Product Description

The Sonos Loudspeaker looks pretty smashing standing next to your ZonePlayer. And, acoustically speaking, these compact, bookshelf speakers deliver great sound, too. That's because the Teteron dome tweeter provides clear extended high frequencies and the polypropylene copolymer cone filter provides good bass response. The SP100s are magnetically shielded, making them safe to use near your TV.

Amazon.com Product Description

The Sonos digital music system can play your digital music anywhere in the house, but it won't sound like much without a good pair of loudspeakers. Enter the Sonos SP100s, which are designed to accent the Sonos ZonePlayer 100 both acoustically and aesthetically. Each speaker boasts a dark grey/charcoal grey finish that looks great next to the ZP100's die-cast matte aluminum enclosure. More importantly, the speakers are equipped with 1-inch Teteron dome tweeters that reproduce extended high frequencies, along with 5.5-inch polypropylene copolymer cone woofers that handle the bass response. The combined driver output extends from 75 Hz to 20 kHz, making everything from rock to classical sound crisp and exciting.

Sonos makes it easy to add the SP100s to your digital system. Simply connect the spring binding posts to the ZonePlayer 100 via the included 14-gauge speaker cable (the package comes with two 10-foot cables) and you're set. Because the ZP100 sports a built-in 100-watt amplifier (50 watts x 2), you don't need to worry about outside amplification, though the speakers work great with third-party amps, too. And the more ZonePlayers you have--the Sonos digital music system accommodates up to 32 different zones--the more SP100s you can add.

Additional features include a nominal impedance of 8 ohms, a crossover frequency of 1.85 kHz, and power handling of 75 watts (125 watts peak). The speakers, which measure 6.4 by 11.3 by 7.6 inches (W x H x D) each, are also magnetically shielded against video interference, so you can locate them near a TV without distorting the picture. As with all Sonos products, the speakers carry a one-year warranty on parts and labor.

Incredible speakers 5 by .. Kevin B (Baltimore, MD)
I've attached these wonderful little speakers to my SONOS and could not be more satisfied. Great base and treble response in a fairly large room. I just have them sitting on the floor, tucked away in the corners, and they sound perfect. My guests are always commenting on how great the sound seems, even at low volume. No one can believe they're listening to those little speakers, without the aid of a separate base unit.
